Edit, search, and organize your inventory
Keep your item inventory organized and accurate for effective order preparation.
Finding Items
Search
Use the search feature to find specific items:
- Select a search field from the dropdown:
- Item number
- Name
- Category
- Enter your search term
- Click Search or press Enter
Tips:
- Partial matches work for text fields
- Search is case-insensitive
- Item numbers require exact matches
Sorting
Click on column headers to sort by:
- Item number
- Name
- Category
Pagination
Results display 10 items per page. Use pagination controls for larger inventories.
Editing Items
Update Details
- Find and open the item
- Click Edit
- Make your changes
- Click Save
What You Can Change
- Name
- Description
- Equipment type (for equipment)
- Total quantity (for equipment)
- Unit (for materials/articles)
- Article number and type
- Notes
What Stays Fixed
- Item number (auto-generated)
- Category (Equipment/Material/Article)
- Creation date
Note: Category cannot be changed after creation. If needed, create a new item with the correct category.
Deleting Items
To delete an item:
- Open the item detail page
- Click Delete
- Confirm the deletion
Warning: Deleting an item removes it from your inventory. Consider the impact on preparation and commissioning records.
Organizing Your Inventory
Naming Conventions
Use consistent naming for easier searching:

Equipment Tracking
For equipment items:
- Keep quantity updated
- Note serial numbers in description
- Track maintenance in notes
Material Organization
For materials:
- Use consistent units
- Include specifications in name
- Add supplier codes as article numbers

Regular Maintenance
- Review inventory periodically
- Update quantities after jobs
- Remove obsolete items

Accurate item data helps preparation:
- Correct names = easy identification
- Updated quantities = realistic planning

For valuable equipment:
- Add serial numbers to description
- Note purchase dates

- Update quantities when equipment is added/removed
