Adding Customers

Before you can create offers or schedule work, you need customers in your database. blinkpilot lets you add both individual contacts and companies.

Adding a Contact

From the Customer List

1. Go to Customers in the sidebar
2. Make sure you're on the Contacts tab
3. Click Add Contact
4. Fill in the contact details:
   • Salutation - Mr. or Ms.
   • First Name and Last Name (required)
   • Email, Phone, Mobile Phone
   • Address information
5. Optionally, mark as Business Contact and link to a company
6. Click Save

Linking a Contact to a Company

If your contact works for a company:

1. Check Business Contact
2. Select the company from the dropdown
3. If the company doesn't exist, you can create it first

Adding a Company

From the Customer List

1. Go to Customers in the sidebar
2. Click the Companies tab
3. Click Add Company
4. Fill in the company details:
   • Company Name (required)
   • Industry - Select from available categories
   • Email, Phone, Website
   • Address information
5. Click Save

Industry Categories

Choose from categories including: Agriculture, Manufacturing, Construction, Trade, Transportation, Hospitality, Information, Finance, Real Estate, Professional Services, Administration, Education, Healthcare, Arts, and Other.

Address Entry

Main Address

Enter the primary address for the contact or company. blinkpilot uses address autocomplete to help you enter accurate addresses.

Fields:

• Street and Street Number
• ZIP Code and City
• State (optional)
• Country

Shipping Address

If the shipping or job site address differs from the main address:

1. Enable Different Shipping Address
2. Enter the shipping address details

Tip: Accurate addresses improve scheduling because blinkpilot uses them for travel time calculations.

Auto-Generated Numbers

blinkpilot automatically assigns:

• Contact Number for each contact (1, 2, 3...)
• Company Number for each company (1, 2, 3...)

These numbers help you quickly identify and reference customers.

Best Practices

1. Complete addresses - Full addresses enable accurate travel time estimates
2. Link contacts to companies - Keeps your data organized for business clients
3. Add contact info - Email and phone numbers save time later
4. Use notes - Document gate codes, parking instructions, or preferences
